Have You Heard Of LastPass?

Tired of having to remember your passwords? Do you find yourself trying 3-5 different passwords on one site until you finally get logged in?

Well now you only need to remember one master password!

Have you heard of LastPass?

I just recently learned about this tool and it has already made me more efficient. I no longer have to look at individual client profiles to find passwords. I have saved them to LastPass and they are filled-in automatically for me.

Now I know for some people, the first reaction is, “I don’t feel comfortable putting all my passwords online!”  However, I urge you to learn more about LastPass before you exclude it all together.

How does LastPass work and is it secure?

LastPass is installed as a browser application. It works with all popular browsers including Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. If you use more than one browser, you can install LastPass in all browsers you use and your data is synchronized across all browsers, but only on the computer that it is installed.

LastPass encrypts your data on your computer and only you can access your data with your one master LastPass password, making it a very secure application. You can also store notes with your passwords and they are just as secure as your passwords.

The best thing about LastPass is that you no longer have to try 5 or 10 times to get into your websites. Once you save our sites, every time you go back, LastPass automatically completes login forms for you and all you have to do is click on button! You only have to remember one password, hence the name LastPass; the last password you will ever have to remember.

You can organize your passwords into groups or folders which is an awesome feature in my case since I store passwords for multiple clients.

LastPass offers a premium account which extends their features to sharing passwords (you no longer have to send passwords by email), import and export your data, have secure passwords automatically generated for you, limit access by creating identities, protection against phishing attacks and much more!

I am already loving how much time this tool has saved me and it’s free! Stop trying to remember your passwords or getting locked out of your accounts!

  1. Wow, very nice! Thanks for sharing this.

I use KeePass and have their app on my phone. But having something cloud-based will be a lot easier to use since I tend to not always be at my desk or remember to export a copy of the latest passwords to my phone. Plus, this will make sharing with my dev team a lot easier.

I’m going to sign up and take a look at this. I see they have the ability to import KeePass data too. Awesome.
